About

Hello, I’m the person behind Operational Notes

I work in finance operations and process improvement, across both order-to-cash and procure-to-pay. My background is AP and AR from the transactional level up, which means I tend to understand the data, the pain, and the politics of a process before trying to redesign it.

Most of what interests me sits in the gap between what an ERP is supposed to do and what actually happens — where processes break down at the boundaries between teams, and manual workarounds quietly become the norm. In practice that means finding where working capital leaks, proving why, and designing fixes that hold after the project team leaves.

What you’ll find here

Longer analytical pieces on measurement and process, shorter reflections, and the odd contrarian take. No thought leadership fluff, no vendor pitches. Just the working notes of someone who finds this stuff genuinely interesting.

The metric you optimise for is the behaviour you get. Choose carefully.

If any of this resonates — or if you think I’ve got something wrong — I’d love to hear from you. The best conversations start with a disagreement.
